Ritual, Magick, Moon and Sun Spells

by Raven and Crone

CASTING A CIRCLE IN A HURRY From Hearth'n Home Witchery

Stand, sit or lie down.
Raise energy by tightening your muscles.
Visualize a glowing purple blue  ball of flame within you.
Using your projective hand, direct this energy out from you into a small magic circle.
The hand acts as the energy director.
Alternately, send out the energy in a clockwise circle around you without moving your hand.
Feel the circle shimmering and pulsing.
If desired and possible, sprinkle salt and or water around you to bless the area before creating the circle.

BINDING A SPELL CHANT
Come ye as the charm is made!
Queen of heaven, Queen of hell,
Horned Hunter of the night
Lend your power unto the spell,
And work our will by Magick rite!
By all the power of land and sea,
By all the might of moon and sun
I call the Earth to bind my spell.
Air to speed it well.
Bright as Fire shall it glow.
Deep as tide of Water flow.
Count the elements fourfold,
In the fifth the spell shall hold.

White Candle Spell For Blessing

Obtain a white candle -- either a plain one (offertory, pillar, or taper) or a figural one in the gender of the person you want to bless. Carve the person's full name on the candle, then dress it with Blessing Oil or Holy Oil. For more power, you may place a name-paper of the person, or a photo, or some personal item of theirs (such as a bit of hair or a snippet of clothing) either under the candle or next to it. An easy way to do this is to place the paper or personal concerns under an overturned saucer and put the candle on top of the saucer. Burn a portion of the candle every day for seven days, pinching it out between burnings. As you light it each day, say this:

Your Name, may you be blessed
May all good things come to you
May nothing whatsoever harm you
May your heart be light
May your travels be safe
May your health be good
May your mind be sound
May your friendships sustain you
May you be blessed in every way
If you have a special request for this person (such as that they find a lover, get a good job, come home safely from a war, or whatever), just add it to the list.

FULL MOON SPELL
The Moon's energy is most intense when she reaches abundant fullness. Any magical effort, especially difficult ones, can benefit greatly from the potency of this phase. Use the full Moon to amplify magical intent and to give spell workings additional power. To seal spells performed during the full Moon, use this chant or one of your own choosing. Abundant Mother, Moon so bright, Hear my plea upon this night. Your fertile power lend this spell, Make it potent, strong, and well

Moonstone Ritual

The moonstone is a semiprecious stone that can aid in any magic you wish to do involving the Moon, water, or the astrological signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. A cabochon-shaped piece of moonstone should be easy to find in rock shops or in New Age stores, and the stone is relatively inexpensive. Once you find it, bathe the stone in salt water. Go outside to face the night sky. Hold it and visualize it becoming the Moon while you say:

Moon in my hand
Lovely to see,
You are mine to hold,
Mine to find
When no Moon I see.
When I wish the Moon's power
Indoors with me,
Moon in my hand
You will abide with me.

Take the stone inside and place it on your altar. Burn a silver candle and place the stone before an image of a Moon god or goddess, such as Thoth or Diana. Meditate on the stone, imbuing it with the powers of the Moon and the sea. Scry with it. Write down what you observe. Repeat the washing of the stone and presentation of it to the Moon each night until the Full Moon for maximum moonstone power.By: Denise Dumars

Full Moon Scrying Ritual
written by D.J. Conway

Items Needed:
1 bright, shiny silver coin
1 small, black cauldron or scrying bowl filled with water

Perform this ritual outside where the rays of the Moon can fall directly onto the water in the cauldron. If you cannot go outside, stay in a darkened room near a window that the Moon shines through. Place the coin in the water and take the cauldron in both hands. Gaze up at the Moon and say:

"Lovely Lady of the night,
Mysteries old and futures bright,
Give me a glimpse of that to be
And as I will so mote it be."

Look down at the coin shimmering in the cauldrons water. With your eyes half closed, adjust your vision as if you were looking into and through the coin. Don't try to analyze anything you might see or that might come into your mind. Just accept it. Some people, rather than seeing actual pictures within the cauldron, will have mental impressions, feelings or pictures. When you have finished, bow to the Moon and say thank you. Pour the water out on the ground. You're done!

Purification Ritual for New Magical Tools by Jame Kambos

Whenever you buy a new tool for magical workings it is important that the tool is purified. This is a simple purification ritual that I use to cleanse my new magical tools:

Ingredients:
cauldron or any heat-proof dish
dandelion leaf
wormwood
sage

Ignite the herbs and let them smolder awhile. As the smoke curls about you pass your tool through the smoke and say:

"Smoke rise,
Let me be wise.
This (name of tool) is cleansed.
I will use it only for good."

The item is now ready to use!

Recharging Psychic Energy

Tools Needed:
2 Drops Of Jasmine Oil
2 Drops of Geranium Oil
An Oil Burner
3 clear Quartz Crystals

Instruction:
Take a soothing bath and prepare yourself. Once you have finished, go into the bedroom and burn the oils, cleanse the crystals and then lie on your bed. Place one crystal over your third eye chakra (between the eyebrows) and hold the other two crystals one in each hand. Make sure that the crystal on your forehead is pointing downwards and that the other two are pointing upwards. Visualize a mighty surge of gold heat and energy entering through your feet and climbing through your body and into the palms of your hands, where the crystals light up. This energy will continue rising until it reaches the third crystal, which will light up and release the powers through the top of your head. Enjoy all your senses tingling and the pleasure of being revived again

A Sun Power Spell

The following spell uses the August Sun to empower a cord or ribbon. This can be used in knot magic later in the winter, when the Sun's strength has ebbed. Before the summer ends, obtain a yellow or gold-colored cord and offer it to the August Sun. Let it absorb the sunlight and say:

Before autumn leaves, Protect me from winter's grief.
I thank the Lady; I thank the Lord
For the power flowing through this cord.

To complete the spell, tie six knots in the cord. During winter, if you need some solar power to energize a ritual light an orange candle and untie one knot. By James Kambos

A GENERAL CHARGE FOR SPELL WORK
The following chant is a good all purpose chant that can be used for just about any spell:
Witches power burning bright, Tarot, rune and blade,
Charge the spell, enfilled with might, Here and now the magic's made.
Wave and tree, hedge and flame, Strength of the elements gather here,
To bless this work and charge it well, To complete the spell now far or near.
Mystic Moon and Brilliant Sun, Send your power here this way,
Gracious Lady, Mighty Lord, Bless this charge that I lay.
Powers that are, powers that be, Gather round this spell I cast,
Empower my working three times three,
Send it forth to see it last! So Shall it Be!

Full Moon Ritual By: Winter Wren

Here, on the night of the Full Moon, the Moon Mother shines in her brightest glory. In addition to being a time of protection magic and the dismissing of unwanted energies in our lives, Full Moons offer us a chance to say "thank you" for things accomplished during the previous lunar cycle. Giving thanks for completed work is part of the cycle of balance that we work toward achieving in our lives. Create your sacred space, invoke your guardians, and light a red candle and
some frankincense. Quiet your mind for a few moments, reflecting back over the workings you have completed in the past month. When you are ready, speak with the Lady in her guise as Moon Mother:

Lady Mother, I, who am your child, stand between the worlds in sacred space under your light. Once more I affirm my joy in life and in my union with you upon your path. I honor you, Lady Goddess, for the favors and energy you bring to my life, and ask your blessings upon me. Beautiful Lady, thank you for the light and beauty you bring to my life. Thank you for the energy and wisdom you give to me to walk in balance in your world.
So mote it be.
